"brrrp" sound while playing music on HP ProBook 450 G2
02-07-2015 01:20 PM - edited 02-07-2015 01:43 PM
i recently bought a hp probook 450 g2 (product number: k7j64es) and have the following problem:
when playing music the notebook does more or less frequently this "brrrp" sound. it sounds as this but is only half a second short and afterwards music continues playing normally.
its very annoying when occurs more than one time in a row.
it happens more often while buffering videos (youtube etc) but also while using windows media player.
i had this problem on both win7 professional sp1 x64 and win8.1 update x64 with the latest sound driver.
on win8.1 i have tried the second latest driver and a bios update too. the problem was not solved.
i have bought the notebook without windws and installed all drivers by myself.
here is the list of my software
maybe i failed to install the drivers in a proper order and you could suggest me the right one (make a list via copy and paste from the drivers below).
should i install windows updates before or after installing drivers?
here are the drivers i installed:
Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver
Intel Management Engine Components Driver
Intel Chipset Installation Utility
Intel Video Driver and Control Panel
Realtek RTL8723BE/RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN-Treiber
Realtek USB and PCIe Media Card Reader Drivers
Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver
Synaptics Mouse Driver
HP Notebook System BIOS Update
HP Hotkey Support
Realtek RTL8723BE Bluetooth-Treiber
Treiber für Realtek-Ethernet-Controller
HP Wireless Button Driver
and here are the ones i didnt install (if you highly reccommend include them in your list):
Intel Smart Connect Technology Driver
HP 3D DriveGuard 6
HP Universal Camera Driver
Synaptics Touch Panel Power Management Settings
Validity Fingerprint Sensor Driver
Essential System Updates for Microsoft Windows 8.1
HP UEFI PC-Hardwarediagnose
HP Support Assistant Software
HP Client Management Solutions Download Library
Vigyanlabs IPM+ Software
HP Universal Port Replicator-Treiber
Treiber für HP 3001pr USB3 Port Replicator
Treiber für HP 3005pr USB 3.0 Port Replicator
Foxit PhantomPDF Express for HP
HP SoftPaq Download Manager
HP Drive Encryption Software
HP Client Security Manager
HP Client Security Manager
HP Drive Encryption Software
HP Computrace
System Default Settings for Windows 8.1
or it is a hardware malfunction?
Thank you !!!

"brrrp" sound while playing music on HP ProBook 450 G2
02-08-2015 10:14 AM
update:
now i have tried to uninstall Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver and use the driver microsoft choses.
the problem still persisted.
after some research i have found out that this kind of problems are caused by high dpc latency.
i installed LatencyMon and ran it.
the bars were first all green even while listening to music with windows media player:
loading a web page in the browser:
then i watched a video on youtube until this "brrrp" sound occured (note: the text was shown in the picture above too)
as i understand the problem is possibly the ndis.sys driver but i have no knowledge on how to troubleshoot the problem.
i have tried to use the older version of the realtek wireless lan driver and also uninstall the driver so windows choses one itself but it didnt help.
I have still the possibility to return the notebook to the seller if it is a hardware malfunction.
Hope somebody has an answer!!!

"brrrp" sound while playing music on HP ProBook 450 G2

Hy!
I have the same machine, and the same problem. Look on the "device manager".... i have a yelow triangle on "Intel(R) Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework PCH Participant Driver" I think this could be the problem, so i downgraded the driver and now stop the "brrrp" sound.
P.S. Sorry for my english!

"brrrp" sound while playing music on HP ProBook 450 G2

Hi,
I had the same "brrrp" problem with the following conf: cpu i5, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD, Wifi Realtek RTL 8723BE/RTL8188, Win 8.1 x64, all drivers from HP official website. This brrp was happening only on wireless network connection without DC plugged in, a power option another then 'high performance' with high network traffic and running some multimedia app.
The problem is generated by wireless module, in my case Realtek RTL 8723BE/RTL8188 and official driver: Realtek RTL8723BE/RTL8188EE.
The solution was to uninstall hp driver above and install a new one from Realtek website: RTL8188CE, Single-Chip IEEE 802.11b/g/n 1T1R WLAN Controller with PCI Express Interface.
Now the wireless is working just fine but not perfect like on old 45xx series that have better wifi module and two wifi antennas. HP saved a lot of cables from this business and i hope that in one day will end up hanging with them.
I decided to replace wifi module with a better one "Intel AC 7260 Dual Band" but i don't know how good will be because HP stole my cable.
Best regards,
Anzzio
