HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab27
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I had this issue before and I've managed to resolve it by draining static, making sure things are plugged in, changing the socket it's connected to etc.

Now I'm getting to the end of my tether with this being an issue, can someone PLEASE tell me if this may be the battery rather than the adapter?

I've had 3 adapters since I got the notebook in August.

I'm still under warranty, so yes, I can send it in. Issue is I have a deadline on Thursday for an essay and need to type it up.  Having the fear of whether my laptop will in fact charge is becoming a bit too much!

Any other ways I can possibly fix this? At least until I can afford to send my laptop to HP?!

I suggest you to uninstall the chipset driver and install it again.

After that, go to Device Manager and remove the AC adapter from the batteries sub-category.

Thanks for the advice!

Can you tell me how to do this? And what each step does? Sorry, things like removing AC Adapter from device manager make me nervous!

Here is how to do it.

Right Click the start Button

select Device manager

in device manager, look for Batteries

In this, look for Microsoft AC Adapter

right click on the AC adapter, select Uninstall.

That's it. Close all open windows and restart your PC.

Check if the issue is resolved.

Alternatively, you can turn off your PC and check if it charges in OFF state.

If yes, you can use this workaround till you can send it for service.
