How to do it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXf4PswA9_Q

Two customer-accessible memory module slots supporting up to 16 GB of RAM

Supports dual-channel memory

 PC3L-12800, 1600-MHz, DDR3L SODIMMs

Supports the following configurations: ● 16384 MB (8192 × 2; dual channel)

4-GB (PC3L-12800, 1600-MHz, DDR3L) 691740-001

8-GB (PC3L-12800, 1600-MHz, DDR3L) 693374-001

So, you can have up to 2 x 8 gig modules for a total of 16 gigs. To answer your direct question yes, you can have 8 gigs just add another 4 gig module. Or you could have 12 total by adding an 8 gig module. Or 16 total with a pair of 8 gigs.

Post back with any more questions.
