I have HP G56. using win7. i upgraded to win 10 however there was a problem, thus i backup my files to usb drive and formatted hard drive by using HP recovery. When i try to restore the files, there is no Visual Studio or C files. My all projects are gone. other files were in the usb drive however no Visual studio files, just folders of it exist. and folders are empty. is there any solution for it. Thank you.
Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I understand from your post that you backed up Visual Studio program by using HP recovery manager. I read that when you try to restore the files, there is no Visual Studio or C files. Maye I can help.
I did some research and found that using HP recovery manager you can backup data like pictures, documents, etc The HP recovery manager is not equipped to backup programs like Visual Studio, Microsoft Office, etc. I believe that's the reason why the Visual Studio is not showing up.

there should be warning sign about The HP recovery manager is not equipped to backup programs like Visual Studio, Microsoft Office, let say Microsoft Office is a popular document type. i couldn't start the computer and need to format hard drive thats why need to back up which is emergency case. unfortunately Hp recovery manager can't recover all file types perhaps
