Happy New Year to you! Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have an HP Pavilion DV6 series laptop and few keys do not work. Initially, after an HP update, the keys started to work and now again they do not. I'd like to assist you with this case.
I would like to know if any changes (hardware or software) took place on the laptop after which this issue may have started. Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Let us run a hardware test on the keyboard first.
-
Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
-
Turn on the computer and immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second.
-
The HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu is displayed.
- Select Component tests.
-
Keyboard - the Quick interactive functional test of the keys on the keyboard. Click Keyboard, then Run once. The Keyboard Test time is 3 minutes.
If the keyboard test passes then you could refer to the steps mentioned in this link: Notebook Keyboard Troubleshooting (Windows 10, 😎
Hope this helps. Let me know the results. Cheers! 🙂
