Hi there, 

 

The following errros appears in the system event logs. 

 

the device, \device\harddisk0\dr0, has a bad block.

 

The laptop is out of warranty now.

Could you please confirm that, the hard disk is under warranty.

Hello @boobalan5,

 

Welcome to FORUM !!!

 

There is no seperate warranty for the Hard Drive. 

 

If HP has to replace the bad hard drive, the unit should be under warranty.

As you say that the unit is not under warranty, HP will not be able to replace it for you unfortunately and you will have to buy the harddrive.

 

I request you run the Hard drive test from the BIOS to confirm the harddrive failure.
