Hi @Dartagnan93

Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome !

* Perform touchpad/mouse tests in an environment outside Windows:

TEST 1

1. Please, shutdown the computer using the power button

2. Power it on.

2.1 As soon as you press the power-on button, immediately begin hitting the Esc button (like tap-tap-tap).

This should open a HP Startup Menu which may look similar to this one

3. Choose F2 to open System Diagnostics. Follow the on-screen instructions to perform Components tests > Mouse or touchpad, whatever it is called

Details in the video here >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCG9t5EB-X0

TEST 2

You will need :

- 1 empty/blank USB thumb drive

- Linux based operating system - free to download - e.g. Ubuntu or Linux Mint

You can directly download Ubuntu Desktop from Ubuntu's web site:

Download the x64 ISO > https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop

Once ready, you need to write the ISO to make a bootable media (e.g. bootable DVD or USB drive). Here is how:

How to create bootable ISO on USB device >> http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/create-a-usb-stick-on-windows

use Rufus > https://rufus.akeo.ie/

When ready with the USB drive:

* Ensure Secure Boot is disabled  (if applicable for your model, you may need to revert it back eventually)

* Ensure Legacy mode is enabled (if applicable for your model, you may need to revert it back eventually)

* Save the UEFI/BIOS changes.

(if applicable for your model) Details>> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03653226

Eventually, please, shutdown the computer using the power button.

Insert the Ubuntu USB thumdrive

Power on the PC.

As soon as you press the power-on button, keep hitting the Esc button (like tap-tap-tap).

This should open a HP Startup Menu which may look similar to this one

Choose F9 to open Boot options. Select the thumb drive as boot option.

Follow the on-screen instructions to run Ubuntu (not install it but try it).

Ubuntu should load. You can try to see if and how the touchpad works.

When the test finishes, please restart the PC, unplug the Ubuntu USB. You might also need to enter BIOS (F10) and restore default settings or disable Legacy Mode and enable Secure boot to start Windows.

Let me know how it goes.

Back to Windows, you may also want to :

- run Windows Updates to install updates

and

- update your drivers (especially for the pointing device). Here is how:

I did the test but it says that everything is ok with the touchpad. I think the problem is not related to the touchpad software..

OK, did you update the driver ? Use the Windows Update method or directly download the latest one for Win 10 1607 > http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp77501-78000/sp77531.exe

Is it better with it ?
