tx-1000 Black Screen

I don't know if the TX1000 problem is the same problem many people are dealing with on the TX2000, but the symptoms sound the same.  On my end I've solved the problem without any hardware fixes.  It surprisingly might be related to video drivers and their involvement with power management hibernation/sleep.  See my reply to this post for more information http://h30434.www3.hp.com/psg/board/message?board.id=Tablet&thread.id=451

I had a tx1210us that did the same thing. The backlight for the screen is shot. If you look carefully in proper lighting, you can see the log in screen very faintly on the screen. I took the notebook ($900 refurbished) in and was told to fix the problem, they would have to replace the entire touchscreeen assembly for $650.00 just for parts. The estimate did not include the required labor. To say I was disappointed would be a huge understatement. The computer still works but you have to coonnect to an external monitor making it totally useless for portability.

Have gone to Costco and purchased a larger, faster, different brand laptop for less than the repair parts.

No more refurbished computers, even from the HP store. And probably no more HP computers either.
