vista, hp pavillion dv7-1232nr,,hard drive?

my computer was starting to act  sluggish, locking up.  now i can't boot up, sounds like it's trying to ...just a clicking sound.  is this the hard drive?  maybe a power switch or something?

Re: vista, hp pavillion dv7-1232nr,,hard drive?

Hi,

Sounds like it could be a problem with the Hard Drive - try the following.

Shut down the notebook.  Tap away at f10 as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu.  Under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run tests on both the Hard Drive and Memory.  Post back with the details of any error messages.

Regards,
