when i watch netflix movies and youtube do i need to clean history

Operating System: Microsoft Windows Vista

i was told that i need to clean up my laptop because when i watch movies ( netflix nd youtube ) it is retained in history and can slow or clog up laptop, i dont know how to clear history ? also what is the rule with deleteting cookies

It is recommended that you regularly clean up unnecessary and temporary files from browser(s) and from other things. You do not need to do it every time you watch videos or every day but you can do it from time to time - e.g. once every week or once every two weeks, something like this.
