HP Envy TS 17 Notebook
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

When I get notified that a window upgrade is available, I run it and it downloads and installs it but when you tick to restart the computer it starts but the states that it cannot complete the downloads and proceeds to remove all date that has been done.

Hi @Gary46 ,

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dv6-3180ea Notebook and issues with updates. I would just ignore the update. It does happen from time to time that the update will not go through as your system is already updated and that is why it fails.

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers that might need updating on your system.

It shows me that there seems to be interference with Software task, usually your virus protection.

You might have to disable this software and then run the Windows update.

I hope this fixes things up for you.

Thanks.
