Introduction

USB-C, a rotationally symmetrical connector as seen below, is becoming an increasingly common type of connector on both smartphones and personal computers. However, the standards and specifications of USB-C, unfortunately, vary widely, with some devices' USB-C ports supporting all data, video, or power while others only providing limited USB 2.0 speeds and without any of the Alternate Mode features such as USB PowerDelivery.

USB-C on HP Notebook PCs

USB-C ports can be found in all categories of HP notebook PCs:

  • Consumer, such as Pavilion
  • Premium, such as ENVY or Spectre
  • Business, such as Elitebook
  • Gaming, such as OMEN or Victus
  • Workstations, such as Zbook

Checking your Notebook PC's Specifications

On HP's Products Support Page, enter your notebook PC's serial number, product number, or product name in the search bar. How Do I Find My Product Name or Number?

Or, let HP detect your product.
