I wish the same had happened to mine! It has been left on looking for updates for many days now. I would love to give this to my daughter but wanted to 'heal' it first to make it as usable as possible. at wit's end with it.

Do appreciate your update: hope springs eternal here 🙂

tried your "solve" for app catalog failing to install & keeps telling me "The App Catalog update can not be instlled and current version is unusable. Please restore the original version" -- when I do that app catalog (guess old version) opens but none of the apps that I own & use will install -- all "Install failed" -- any other suggestions?

So have both of you tried this already?

1. Open the Date & Time app, turn Network Time OFF, and set the date back to July 1st, 2013.

2. Reboot the TouchPad.  Be sure the time is still July 1st, 2013.

3. Open the App Catalog, search for the word "update", locate the App Catalog Update, tap the "FREE" button to install it, then Launch it.

4. Back to the Date & Time app to set the clock back to present time.  App Catalog should be back to normal.

This fix has worked for many people.

Perhap if you provided some details about how and when your installation doesn't install correctly, we could help you!
