my 6 month old 3835 printer refuses to copy a document. please dont tell me to update my software on my computer,  it isnt connected to a computer at the moment and still doesnt want to make a simple copy of a document on the glass of the scanner.

the scanner doesnt even budge or think about coming to life.

the software on the printer however has been updated to the latest software.

 

anyone willing to help before the printer goes for its maiden flight towards a brick wall?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. 

 

Let's try a power reset on the printer

 

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

lift the scanner lid up and try and make a copy , check if the scanner bar lights up and moves

Hi there

No, it did not help unfortunately.

I even tried a factory re-set, that did not help either.

any other ideas?
