Hello

I use my printer infrequently. I am now on my third set of print cartridges that have dried up, even though they're 75% full. I've tried ALL the solutions on the HP site, and even some on other websites. Will HP refund me at all? If I move over to "instant ink" what happens if they dry up when 75% full? Will they be replaced?

I don't use the printer very much, but do occasionally need to print documents.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

No - HP is not going to refund money on ink cartridges because you don't use the ink.

When we had our second home in the mountains, I had to purchase a new set of cartridges every year.

It did add up.

If you let the printer "sleep' as opposed to switching it off, the printer will try to maintain itself, including its ink supplies.

Will that be enough?

Maybe - much better than switching off and letting the ink die.

What else?

Let the printer sleep.

Print a test page once a week.

Use one of the Printer Reports as your "test page".

What else?

The Instant Ink Print-by-Page subscription might be useful to you.

I do suggest you take the time to READ, read, read about the service before you subscribe.

Ink is indeed provided during the time the subscription is active.

Normally, Instant Ink replacements are only sent when the printer reports to the service that ink is low and it is time to replenish the supplies.  If you did have an instance where the ink had dried and could not be used, you could get more ink from Instant Ink.  Yeah, but...The only problem might be that the shipment / replacements take time.

In General,

You would still have to maintain the printer (occasionally printing a test page) so you would know whether the printer could still print.

Instant Ink subscription is bound by contract.

Read the Terms of Service document before enrolling.
