Printer Model: HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 series

I purchased this printer on July 22, 2022 with 3rd party ink.  when it arrived I loaded the 3rd party toner and all went ok.  In March 2023 I purchased toner again and all went ok with my printer - no rejects.  Then I bought some toner on Oct 2, 2023 and all of the toner was rejected because it was not HP toner?

I googled for a solution and found there are several lawsuits going on in Europe and potentially the USA due to the chip firmware upgrade.  How can this be turned off so that I can use the toner I purchased? or does HP need to refund me the total amount I spent because there was no warning about disallowing 3rd party toner?

Hi @NCPower,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

This is a Dynamic security-enabled printer. The Firmware Update may prevent supplies with non-HP chips or circuitry from working.

Note: For printers manufactured prior to December 1, 2016, dynamic security will not be enabled by the firmware. Please note that HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP cartridges.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
