If your HP ENVY 6455e All-in-One Printer is not printing in color but prints with black ink just fine, follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Cartridges:

  • Ensure the color cartridge is properly installed and has sufficient ink. If the cartridge is low or empty, replace it with a new HP cartridge.

Clean Cartridges:

  • Use the HP Smart app to clean the printhead. This can often resolve issues with ink flow.

Printer Settings:

  • Go to your printer settings and verify that you have selected color printing as opposed to grayscale.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Check for and install any available updates for your printer drivers. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause printing issues.

Printhead Alignment:

  • Ensure the printhead is aligned correctly. You can perform this task through the HP Smart app or your printer’s control panel.

Check Printhead:

  • The printhead might be clogged. You can clean it manually or use the printer’s automatic cleaning function.

Use Genuine HP Cartridges:

  • Make sure you are using genuine HP cartridges. Non-HP cartridges can sometimes cause issues with color printing.

Reset Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for a few minutes, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
