6520 all-in-one 564XL color cartridges

Photosmart 6520 all-in-one  -   will a 564XL color cartridge fit or only standard 564 color cartridges compatible?

I use 564XL black (twice as wide as the standard 564 cartridge) it installs and works fine. But the slots for the color cartridges appear quite narrow.

Yes, the HP 564XL color cartridges will fit in your Photosmart just like the standard HP 564 color cartridges. 

The 564XL black cartridge is larger because it's a high-capacity version, but the 564XL color cartridges (cyan, magenta, yellow) are the same physical size as the standard 564 color cartridges—they just contain more ink.

So, you can confidently use HP 564XL color cartridges without any issues! 😊
