@Philacooper49, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the blue cartridge light remains on after replacing the cartridge on your HP OfficeJet 7110 Wide Format Printer, it usually indicates an issue with cartridge recognition or installation. Let’s try the steps below to resolve it:

Use Genuine HP Cartridges

Ensure the cartridge is genuine and compatible with your printer. The HP 7110 uses:

HP 932 Black

HP 933 Cyan, Magenta, Yellow

Remove and Reinstall the Blue (Cyan) Cartridge

  • With the printer powered on, open the cartridge access door.
  • Gently remove the cyan cartridge.
  • Check the contacts (gold-colored) on the cartridge and inside the slot for ink or debris.
  • Reinsert the cartridge firmly until it clicks into place.

Clean Cartridge and Electrical Contacts

  • Dust or ink buildup can prevent proper detection.
  • Power off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean:
  • Cartridge electrical contacts
  • Electrical contacts inside the cartridge slot
  • Let dry completely, then reinstall and power on the printer.

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn the printer on.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer while it’s on.
  • Unplug the other end from the wall outlet.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.

Check for Firmware Updates

Sometimes, outdated firmware causes detection issues.
