Hi @Lissy007

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If your HP 7200e printer can print test pages in color but not other documents, it sounds like a software or settings issue.

Here’s what you can try:

1. Check the Print Settings:

Open the document you’re trying to print.

Go to the Print dialog box (usually accessed with Ctrl+P or Command+P).

Under Properties or Preferences, check for a Color option.

If the option is missing, ensure Color Mode is not set to grayscale or black-and-white.

2. Update Printer Driver:

Visit HP’s official support website Official HP® Drivers and Software Download | HP® Support and download the latest driver for your printer model.

Install the updated driver and reboot your computer to see if this resolves the issue.

3. Check Application Settings:

Some applications (like PDF viewers or specific photo editors) may override printer settings. Check if the app’s print options allow you to enable color printing.

4. Reset Printer Settings:

Access your printer’s Settings menu (either on the printer screen or through the HP Smart app).

Restore the default settings to ensure no custom configurations are affecting color printing.

5. HP Smart App:

If you’re using the HP Smart app to manage your printer, check for the color printing option within the app.

Make sure the app and your firmware are updated.

6. Printer Firmware Update:

HP regularly releases new firmware versions for printer enhancements, app updates, or issue fixes. Update the firmware regularly to get the most out of your printer.

Click on the link below for instructions on how to update the firmware of your printer.

7. Run Diagnostics:

Use the HP Smart app or the built-in printer tools to run a diagnostic test and troubleshoot potential hardware issues.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
