Hi @JStephenH,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try the following steps:
Check Ink Levels
- Ensure the black ink tank is filled with genuine HP ink.
- If low, refill the tank properly.
Run Printhead Cleaning
- On the printer’s touchscreen, go to Setup (⚙️) → Maintenance → Clean Printhead.
- Repeat up to 3 times if needed.
Check for Air Bubbles in the Ink Hose
- If the black ink hose is empty:
- Open the ink access door.
- Make sure the black ink valve is fully open.
- Run the ‘Clean Printhead’ function again to prime the ink flow.
Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the printer, unplug it for 5 minutes, then turn it back on.
- Try printing a nozzle check or test page.
Check Printhead & Nozzles
- Remove the black printhead, wipe the nozzle area with a lint-free cloth.
- Reinsert the printhead and run a Printhead Alignment.
