Cannot print.  Connect to the internet to continue printing with HP instant ink cartridges.

Printer is directly connected to my laptop via USB.

Don't believe it is low on ink.

Very low volume use, so already canceled by instant ink program after paying for one year and never needing ink.

HP already has my ink money

Hi @UGLY99,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP 8025 printer is prompting you to connect to the internet to continue printing with HP Instant Ink cartridges, even though you're connected directly to your laptop via USB. This issue can occur because HP printers often require an internet connection for certain functions, even when connected via USB.

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue.

  • Check Ink Levels: Even if you don't believe it's low on ink, it's worth checking the ink levels just to be sure. You can do this through the printer's control panel or through the printer software on your laptop.
  • Restart Printer and Laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off both your printer and laptop, wait a few moments, and then turn them back on.
  • Check Printer Settings: Make sure that the printer is set as the default printer on your laptop and that it's properly configured to use the USB connection.
  • Reinstall Printer Software: If the printer was previously connected via Wi-Fi for Instant Ink, there might be some residual settings causing issues. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software on your laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
