I have an HP inkjet printer 4630 that will not allow me to print after changing ink cartridges. The message "The following ink cartridge must be replaced" refuses to go away after changing my ink cartridges. What can I do. I have several print jobs that need to be done immediately!

Hi @DJ514,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your printer might be experiencing a cartridge recognition issue. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this problem:
- Verify Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the new ink cartridges are installed correctly. Sometimes cartridges may not be seated properly, causing the printer to not recognize them.
- Clean Cartridge Contacts: Turn off the printer and carefully remove the cartridges. Clean the electrical contacts on both the cartridge and the printer using a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water. Make sure they are dry before reinserting the cartridges.
- Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a couple of minutes. Then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the printer and clear any error messages.
- Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP website. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve cartridge recognition issues. Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Reset Printer: Try resetting the printer to its factory settings. The steps for this vary depending on the printer model, so refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
- Replace Cartridge: If none of the above steps work, it's possible that the new cartridge itself is faulty. Try replacing it with another new cartridge to see if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.
