Hi @Caryz,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error message "Black Cartridge: Not Intended for Use in Current Device" indicates that your HP printer is not recognizing the installed cartridge. This issue may occur due to several reasons, such as.

Incompatible Cartridge

  • Ensure the cartridge you're using is compatible with your printer model. Check the printer manual or HP's website for the correct cartridge model.

Regional Cartridge Locking

  • HP sometimes "locks" cartridges to specific regions. If your printer is set to a different region from the cartridge, it will not work.

Non-HP or Refilled Cartridge

  • If you are using refilled or third-party cartridges, the printer might not recognize them. Ensure that you are using genuine HP cartridges to avoid compatibility issues.

Firmware Update

  • Some HP printers require firmware updates to work with new cartridge versions. Check for firmware updates on HP's support page and apply them to your printer.

Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for 60 seconds, and then turn it back on. This can help reset any communication errors between the printer and the cartridge.

Reinstall the Cartridge

  • Remove the cartridge, clean the copper contacts with a lint-free cloth, and reinstall it. Make sure it clicks into place properly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
