It sounds like you're dealing with a frustrating print quality issue. Here are some steps to troubleshoot black ink bleeding into other colors on your HP Officejet Pro 251dw:

1. Check Ink Levels

  • Low ink levels can cause print quality issues. On your printer control panel, check the Ink Level icon.
  • If any cartridges are low, replace them.

2. Perform a Printhead Cleaning

  • Open HP Smart or HP Printer Assistant on your Windows 11 PC.
  • Navigate to Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
  • Run the cleaning cycle and print a test page.

3. Adjust Paper Type Settings

  • Ensure the paper type in the printer settings matches the actual paper you're using.
  • Go to Printer Preferences > Paper Type and select the correct option.

4. Align the Printhead

  • Misalignment can cause ink bleeding. Use the Align Printhead option in HP Printer Assistant.

5. Try Different Paper

  • Some paper types absorb ink differently. If possible, test with HP-recommended paper.

6. Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • HP regularly releases new firmware versions for printer enhancements, app updates, or issue fixes. Update the firmware regularly to get the most out of your printer.
