Black ink cartridge missing

HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3525

Hello,

I got used HP Deskjet Advantage 3525 printer. When I turned it on, it messaged ink error that cartridge appears to be missing. I bought new genuine HP cartridges - all 4 of them and replaced them. 

The printer is still showing error of missing black cartridge (it shows symbol of black cartridge) and I cannot do anything. I tried to install printer driver on my notebook (Windows 10), but as I try to set up a new printer in HP smart app it tells me it couldn't find my printer. 

I tried with HP support assistant and it suggested to update my printer firmware. I chose update via Web page (since the printer is not connected to internet and my computer doesn't even know I have printer). The  HP printer update program shows my computer, but as I say to update it, there is some error in I get 'update failed'.

As I know printer is not under warranty any more and was not connected to computer for at least two years. That's why I got it - the owner didn't need it any more. 🙂

I feel totally hopeless, so I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

If you have already performed the steps from the document HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

 

Since the device is out of warranty, and we've concluded that this is a hardware malfunction, I may have a few pointers/suggestions to help you out, however, since these suggestions are limited to you and your printer alone, I'd like to send out a private message with those details.
