Hi @Redhot022,

 Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy 7645 printer is producing faint yellow instead of black ink, it's likely that there is an issue with the black ink cartridge or the printer head. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Check the ink levels: Make sure that the black ink cartridge is not empty or low on ink. You can check the ink levels from the printer's control panel or from the printer software on your computer.
  • Run a printer head cleaning cycle: If the ink levels are fine, try running a printer head cleaning cycle from the printer's control panel. This can help to unclog any blockages in the printer head that may be causing the issue.
  • Check the ink cartridge: Make sure that the black ink cartridge is installed correctly and that it is not damaged or expired. If the cartridge is damaged or expired, replace it with a new one.
  • Perform a printer reset: If none of the above steps work, try resetting the printer to its default settings. You can find instructions for how to do this in the printer's user manual or on the HP website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
