HP ENVY Photo 7158 All-in-One Printer

Hello,

My printer has recently started to make a clicking noise. It happened a few days after a paper jam and after I changed the ink cartridges. I don't see any paper stuck, and I've used the cleaning features built in the printer. I don't know why or where these black lines are coming from.

Thanks, Sam

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting clicking noise from the printer, I am glad to assist you.

Reset the printer

  • Reset the printer to recover from printer errors or failures.
  • If your printer has a rechargeable battery, remove it.
  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.
  • NOTE: HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
  • Turn on the printer to complete the reset.

Clean the paper pick rollers as mentioned in step 2 in this HP document:- Click here

(Note:- Though the title of the document is different, these steps should fix the issue)

Let me know how it goes.

If this helps, please mark the public post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
