I have not used my 2700-all in one printer for a while. Just bought new ink and both are showing as full but black ink will not print. I’m using the HP Smart App on iPhone

Hi @Ems_72-69 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP DeskJet 2700 All-in-One Printer is not printing black ink even though the cartridge is full and you're using the HP Smart App on your iPhone, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  • Clean the Print Head: Sometimes, dried ink or debris can block the print head nozzles, preventing ink from flowing properly. Most printers have a utility to clean the print head. You can usually find this option in the printer's settings menu accessed through the HP Smart App.
  • Check the Ink Cartridge: Ensure that the black ink cartridge is properly installed and securely seated in its slot. If it's not seated correctly, the printer may not recognize it or may not be able to use it.
  • Run a Print Quality Diagnostic: Many printers, including HP models, have a built-in diagnostic tool that can help identify and resolve print quality issues. Look for this option in the printer settings menu of the HP Smart App.
  • Align the Print Heads: Print head misalignment can also cause printing issues. Look for an option to align the print heads in the printer settings menu of the HP Smart App.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates include fixes for printing issues.
  • Try Another Black Ink Cartridge: If none of the above steps work, try using a different black ink cartridge. It's possible that the current cartridge is defective or has dried out, especially if the printer hasn't been used for a while.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
