@JTCB1, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e won't print with the blue (cyan) cartridge—even after replacing it and performing cleaning/alignment. Here's a step-by-step troubleshooting guide:

Restart the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  4. Wait for 60 seconds and connect the power cord back in.
  5. Turn on the printer.

Confirm Cartridge Installation

Make sure the new cyan cartridge is seated properly.

Open the ink cartridge access door and gently press down then reinsert the cyan cartridge to ensure a good connection.

Use Genuine HP Ink

Ensure the cartridge is genuine HP. Third-party or refilled cartridges may not work reliably.

Check the packaging or use the HP Smart App to verify authenticity.

Print a Test Page

Use the printer’s control panel or HP Smart app:

Go to: Setup > Printer Maintenance > Print Quality Report

Look at the cyan blocks on the page. Are they:

Completely missing?

Streaked or faded?

Deep Printhead Cleaning

You've already done basic cleaning. Try deeper cleaning:

Setup > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead

Run the cleaning cycle 2–3 times, waiting a few minutes between each.

Reprint a Print Quality Report after each cleaning.

Align the Printhead Again

Go to: Setup > Printer Maintenance > Align Printhead

Follow the prompts and check the results for cyan color issues.

Run HP Smart:

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

Also, you may refer to this guide: HP OfficeJet 6900, 8010, 8020, 8030 printers - No black ink, wrong colors, other print quality issue...

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
