Hi @Izzy97,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the blue ink (cyan) is not working on your HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 printer even after replacing the cartridge, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:

1. Check the Cartridge Installation

  • Make sure the new ink cartridge is installed correctly. Remove it and reinstall it, ensuring it clicks into place.

2. Check for Protective Tape

  • Verify that you have removed any protective tape or plastic covering from the new ink cartridge. Sometimes, the protective film around the cartridge can cause it to not work.

3. Clean the Cartridge and Printhead

  • Clean the Cartridge: Gently wipe the copper contacts on the ink cartridge with a lint-free cloth or paper towel.
  • Clean the Printhead: If the cartridge contacts are clean, the printhead may be clogged. You can try cleaning the printhead using the printer's built-in cleaning function:
    • Open the printer’s control panel.
    • Navigate to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead. Follow the on-screen instructions to clean it.

4. Run a Printhead Cleaning Cycle

  • In the printer’s menu, under Tools or Maintenance, run the Clean Printhead option. You may need to do this multiple times to remove any blockages.

5. Check Ink Levels

  • Ensure that all ink cartridges (including the blue one) have sufficient ink. Sometimes a new cartridge can still have an issue or be low on ink.

6. Perform a Test Print

  • After cleaning, print a test page or a diagnostic page to check if the color is printing properly.

7. Reset the Printer

  • If none of the above steps work, try resetting the printer:
    • Turn off the printer.
    • Unplug it for 10-15 minutes.
    • Plug it back in and turn it on.

8. Replace the Cartridge Again

  • If the issue persists after cleaning and troubleshooting, the new cartridge itself might be defective. Try replacing the cartridge with another new one to see if the problem is resolved.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
