Office Jet Pro 6978
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I just got a brand new HP office jet pro 6978 and everything is working and sounding fine, except nothing coming out but blank pages. I am thinking it's something to do with the electric signal to the ink cartridges. Maybe ribbon cable. The air vents are open.

@Railhead, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

I understand the printer is printing blank sheets. Let us try these steps:

 

Make sure the plastic tape if any is removed from the new ink cartridge before placing it in the printer.

Check the ink levels to make sure the printer is reading all 4 ink cartridges.

 

Perform steps 2, 9, and 10 from this document - Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues

 

Try printing or make a copy from the scanner glass to check the result.
