Brand new HP 6000 with new HP ink cartridges will not print magenta ink

HP 6000 Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have run the built-in cleaning functions. I have also cleaned the contacts on the cartridge as suggested by HP's support documents. There is still not the slightest hint of magenta ink coming out. The printer is brand new, this is the cartridge that came in the box. What do I do?

@JDJackson, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

I understand the printer is not printing Magenta. Lets us try these steps:

 

  • Make sure the plastic tape if any is removed from the new ink cartridge before placing it in the printer.
  • Try making a standalone copy in color and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

 

Check the ink levels using the HP Smart app, clean the ink cartridges, and print a quality page to check the result as shown in this document - Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues
