Thanks for replying.
The "Use Setup Cartridge" error on your HP Deskjet 3050A All-in-One Printer (J611a) typically occurs when the printer requires specific setup cartridges during the initial installation.
Here are steps to resolve the issue:
1. Verify Cartridge Type
- Ensure you are using the original setup cartridges that came with the printer. These cartridges are required for the initial setup process.
2. Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
3. Reinstall Cartridges
- Remove the cartridges and inspect them for any damage or protective tape that might be blocking the contacts.
- Reinsert the cartridges firmly into their slots.
4. Update the firmware on an HP printer
- HP regularly releases new firmware versions for printer enhancements, app updates, or issue fixes. Update the firmware regularly to get the most out of your printer.
- Click on the link below for instructions on how to update the firmware of your printer.
https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16
5. Perform a Factory Reset
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset.
Let me know how it goes! 😊

The trouble is also that HP imposses the use of original cartridges. I had a compatible one and could not print. Had to wait 2 days (Saturday afternoon and Sunday, there's nowhere you can buy printing stuff here), run to the shop on MOnday and get an original one cause it was urdent for me to be able to print.
How can I avoid that unfair (and illegal) imposition?

If you are using generic or non-HP ink cartridges and the above links do not help. You will have to contact the generic ink cartridge manufacturer to assist you further with it, or you will have to use genuine HP ink cartridges to resume printing.

The feedback button after selecting that the answer didn't help, doesn´t work. So here it is: The links seem to have nothing to do with my specific printer, so they are useless to me as your illegal policy is still blocking my printer
