HP LaserJet Pro CP1525n Color Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone,

I have a HP LaserJet Pro CP1525n Color Printer and never had any issues with it. A few days ago the printer started printing the black faded a lot, although all the other colors work fine. This happens even on prints that are generated from the printer itself, like the demo and supplies status reports, which I guess excludes the possibility to be a software problem on computer side.

I did the following steps:

  • I increased the intensity of black to 5 at printer's configuration page, but this didn't change anything.
  • I initiated the clean process a few times, but didn't change the result. Other time it got better, but other times it got worse.
  • I tried an other brand new black toner, but no luck
  • I tried the calibration, but nothing changed
  • I reset the configuration to factory default, no change
  • I tested prints from three different computers with different operating systems, but no difference on print out
  • I tried only gray scale print, but now change there as well

Can anyone please propose anything else I could do to bring it back to good working order?

The only thing I have in my mind right now is to open the printer and see if I can clean the image belt and use pressure air in the printer internal. This might help, but I would like first to try any other step in case I can avoid it.

Thank you all in advance.

@walkero, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this issue by performing the necessary troubleshooting steps.

Make sure you have tried the steps mentioned in this document - Resolving Print Quality Issues

If the issue persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware issue with the printer as you have already replaced the black ink toner. Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
