Can't print photos on photo paper with my HP Officejet Pro 6978 printer

I can't print photos on photo paper with my HP Officejet Pro 6978 printer. I found numerous replies to the same question on the internet and followed the suggested instructions, but I'm still having no luck . I can print on letter-size paper, no problem. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong, or maybe it's something I'm not doing, I don't know. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? I sure would appreciate some help. Thank you.

We don't know what solutions you have considered, seen,

We don't know whether the photo paper is appropriate for your printer,

We don't know the size of the paper,

We don't know whether you have set up the job correctly.

And,

We don't know which software you are using to view and send the job to the printer,

We don't know whether you have installed the Full Feature Software,

We don't know whether you have changed the paper in the printer and forgot to tell the printer about the change,

We don't know whether you have ever (before) printed a photo on this printer, using this kind of paper, and whatever else you are doing.

There is so much "We don't know".

Yes, it is true that most of what we do know has already been posted, answered, explained in exhaustive detail.
