HP Recommended
Example: Officejet 8610
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently, my OJ 8610 suddenly developed the "one or more cartridges appear to be damaged" issue, and of course there is nothing wrong with the cartridges.  Just to make sure, i even tried new cartridges.  Each time I get thge error, after replacing the cartridges, it identifies a different cartridge.  Frustrating, and now i can't do anything with the printer due to the status it is in.  I read that upgrading the firnware would resolve the cartridge prioblem, so I downloaded the firmward, but it wont install (printer is found, but greyed out) because the printer cartridge error....status unknown, it says.

Is there a way to force a firmware upgrade?  Or is there any other way known to get around this error....besides buying a new printer?  Thanks.
