Cartridge Problem

I have the same problem as previously reported with the printer display stating “Remove and reinstall the indicated cartridge..” I have not recently replaced the cartridge but did get a notification that there was a recent firmware update.   Removed and replaced the cartridge and the message still appears and can’t print anything. I  have tried all previous solutions including cleaning, hard reset (multiple times ) and soft reset (multiple times) .   Replaced color cartridge with an old /empty cartridge and the printer will print an alignment page.   What should I try next?   I am enrolled in instant ink
