HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-in-One Printer

After Replacing the cartridge (953 XL) of my HP 8720 the message appears as

- Supply System Problem

"THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE SUPPLY SYSTEM. TRY REPLACING THE AFFECTED CARTRIDGE WITH DIFFRENT, NON-EMPTY, CARTRIDGE.

IF MESSAGE REAPPEARS AGAIN, RECORD MESSAGE AND CONTACT HP.

I have changed the cartridge twice & even ran the diagnostic. the problem still persists.

can anyone suggest the solution apart from changing the cartridge.

Thanks

Hi @Dpk3492,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are facing an issue with your Printer that has a supply system problem error.

A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

C) If the issue still persists, refer to the steps on this link to further troubleshoot.

Hello @Irwin6

Good day to you!

I have tried following the instructions & did some more research online as well. I even bought the set of new cartridges & replaced.

the error message says cartridge M is depleted.

at times it shows all cartridges level full a time half but when the printer starts the initialization finally the message shows cartridge depleted. IMG_8215.JPGIMG_8227.JPGIMG_8226.JPGIMG_8222.JPGIMG_8225.JPG

I just bought the new one, & it has ink, but the printer keeps sending this massage.

kindly share your thoughts.
