Hi @Linda366
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
Check Cartridge Installation:
- Ensure that the cartridges are properly installed. Remove and reinsert them, making sure they click into place securely.
Remove Protective Tape:
- Check that any protective tape or plastic covers have been removed from the cartridges. Sometimes, leftover tape can prevent proper contact.
Clean the Cartridge Contacts:
- Gently clean the copper contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer with a soft, lint-free cloth. Make sure to avoid touching the nozzles.
Reset the Printer:
- Power off the printer and unplug it from the wall. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can do this through the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP support website.
Check for Error Messages:
- Look at the printer’s display for any error messages related to cartridges or communication issues. Follow any on-screen prompts.
Use Genuine HP Cartridges:
- Ensure you are using genuine HP cartridges, as third-party cartridges may not always be recognized properly.
Try Different Cartridges:
- If possible, try using another set of cartridges to see if the issue persists. This can help identify if the problem is with the cartridges or the printer itself.
Printer Self-Diagnostic:
- Run a printer self-diagnostic if available. This can often be found in the printer settings menu.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
