The number 60 ink for my printer that I have been buying and using for since I’ve had it no longer works. I spent over $60.00 and can’t return it. I have an HP Photosmart printer.

Hi @Nancy1016,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing trouble with your HP Photosmart printer not recognizing the ink cartridge you purchased.

Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

  • Check Compatibility: Ensure that the ink cartridge you purchased is compatible with your specific HP Photosmart printer model. Sometimes, using the wrong type of ink cartridge can cause compatibility issues.
  • Inspect the Cartridge: Make sure the ink cartridge is properly installed in the printer. Remove it and then reinsert it firmly to ensure it's seated correctly.
  • Clean Contacts: Sometimes, dust or debris can accumulate on the contacts of the ink cartridge or within the printer itself, leading to connection issues. Use a clean, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the contacts on both the cartridge and the printer.
  • Restart Printer: Turn off your printer, wait for a few minutes, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes reset the printer's internal sensors and help it recognize the new ink cartridge.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP printer. Sometimes, updating the printer's firmware can resolve compatibility issues with newer ink cartridges. Update the firmware on an HP printer

I don’t think you understand my problem. I am out $60.13 because of being misled by the packaging. The model of my printer is HPCN731A model D11A.
