Please help!
I'm on the Instant Ink programme. My colour was low (with black at about 60%) so I replaced the colour cartridge. However, the printer then told me that there was an error with the black cartridge. I don't know how this can be when the black one wasn't even touched and was working and reasonably full up to this point?
My Instant Ink account is saying that the black cartridge is a non HP Instant Ink one but it isn't.
I've tried everything suggested online; rebooting the printer, cleaning the black cartridge, and removing and replacing both cartridges. What should I do next? Obviously it's managed 4 months of lockdown home educating and decided to give up on me the one day I have a really important document to print lmao
If you can help I'd be very grateful. I simply cannot afford to buy a new printer and would be really upset having to get one when I haven't even used my instant ink subscription much at all!
Edited to add - I've just put in the REALLY old black cartridge that's been sitting there waiting to go back for recycling and it works (even though it says it's completely out of ink - it's still printing the alignment page though) so this is a crappy cartridge and not anything to do with the printer itself.
