Hello, I am using Ubuntu 22.04, I also have Windows 11 Home version. I wanted to know the current DPI of my printer such that I can print out fiduciary marker giving pixel values, currently I am not sure even if it is fixed or variable. I have tried looking into the HP application but was not able to see that. Also, there are post related to it but the app and os has been updated so not getting any trace of that.
Thank You

To find out the current DPI (dots per inch) of your HP DeskJet 4255e printer, you can follow these steps on both Windows 11 and Ubuntu 22.04:
For Windows 11
Access Printer Properties:
- Open the Control Panel.
- Navigate to Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your HP DeskJet 4255e printer and select Printer properties.
Print Quality Settings:
- Go to the Advanced tab.
- Look for print quality settings under Printing Defaults or Preferences.
- Here you can find the DPI settings listed under print quality (e.g., Draft, Normal, Best).
HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart App.
- Select your printer.
- Go to Printer Settings or Print Preferences.
- Look for the DPI settings under Advanced Settings.
For Ubuntu 22.04
Check Printer Properties Using CUPS:
- Open your web browser and navigate to http://localhost:631.
- Click on Printers.
- Click on your HP DeskJet 4255e printer.
Printer Options:
- Look for the section related to print quality or resolution.
- Here you can find the current DPI settings.
Terminal Command:
- Open a terminal.
- Run the command to list printer options:lpoptions -p <printer_name>
- Replace <printer_name> with the actual name of your printer (you can find this by running lpstat -p).
Using HP Linux Imaging and Printing (HPLIP):
- Ensure HPLIP is installed.
- Open HP Toolbox using HPLIP:hp-toolbox
- Select your printer.
- Look for printing preferences or print quality settings.
