Cyan ink issue. Cyan ink not printing on test sheet but when I copy something with blue it comes out pink. Ink tanks are all full. I have done print head cleaning on various days and tried all solutions the hp virtual assistant has recommended. Nothing is fixing it.

Hi @Megan1234511 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand that the cyan ink in your HP Smart Tank 7301 All-in-One Printer is not printing properly, and blue areas are appearing pink on copies, it indicates a problem with the cyan ink flow or the printhead. Here's a step-by-step guide to resolve the issue:
1. Verify Ink Levels
Ensure that the cyan tank is genuinely full and not just appearing to be. Sometimes air bubbles or blockages in the ink tube can cause this issue.
- Check the ink tank visually to confirm it's adequately filled.
- Shake the ink bottle gently before refilling (if needed).
2. Check the Printhead
Since you’ve already cleaned the printhead multiple times:
- Manually clean the printhead:
- Open the printer and remove the cyan printhead (refer to the manual for instructions).
- Use a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled or filtered water to clean the printhead nozzles gently.
- Dry the printhead thoroughly before reinserting it.
3. Run Advanced Cleaning
If basic cleaning hasn’t worked:
- Open the HP Smart app or printer settings and select "Advanced Cleaning" under the maintenance tools. This process uses more ink and takes longer but can resolve stubborn clogs.
4. Align the Printhead
After cleaning, perform a printhead alignment:
- Navigate to Settings > Tools > Align Printhead.
- Follow the prompts and print an alignment page.
5. Check for Air Bubbles in Ink Tubes
In Smart Tank printers, air bubbles in the ink delivery system can cause ink flow issues:
- Perform an Ink System Flush (if the printer has this option in settings).
- Gently tap the cyan tank to dislodge bubbles.
6. Print a Nozzle Check Pattern
This will help diagnose the issue:
- Access the printer’s maintenance settings and print a Nozzle Check Pattern.
- Examine the printout for gaps or lines in the cyan section.
7. Update Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
Ensure your printer firmware is up to date:
- Visit HP Support and download the latest firmware for your printer.
Refer to this document: HP Smart Tank 7301 All-in-One User manual
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
