I have an HP Office Jet 3830 printer that stopped printing Cyan. All other colors and black print. I tried all the cleaning tools and new cartridges and software/firmware updates and they didn't solve the issue. I also have an HP ENVY 4512 that worked just fine before getting the newer 3830, and tried plugging that in and printing, and it does the same thing, will not print Cyan.

Hi @CY75,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you've already tried various troubleshooting steps such as cleaning tools, new cartridges, and software/firmware updates, and the issue persists across different printers, there are a few additional things you can check and try.
- Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the Cyan cartridge is correctly installed. Remove the Cyan cartridge and reinsert it to make sure it's securely in place.
- Inspect the Cartridge: Check the Cyan cartridge for any physical damage. Make sure there's no protective tape or plastic covering that needs to be removed.
- Printer Head Alignment: Most printers have an option to align the printhead. Check your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a printhead alignment. This can sometimes resolve color printing issues.
- Print a Test Page: Print a test page to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with a specific document or if it's a general printing problem.
- Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Sometimes, driver issues can cause printing problems.
- Try Different Software: Attempt to print from different software applications to rule out any software-specific issues. Sometimes, problems may be related to the software you are using to print.
- Check Printer Settings: Verify that the printer settings are configured correctly. Ensure that color printing is enabled and set to the correct settings.
- Check for Firmware Updates: Check if there are any additional firmware updates available for your printer model. Firmware updates can sometimes address printing issues.
- Printer Troubleshooter: Most operating systems have a built-in printer troubleshooter. Run the troubleshooter to identify and fix any potential issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
