Deskjet 2600 All in One Printer showing problem with colour Cartridge

Deskjet 2600 All In One Printer

Had a new colour cartridge which worked but then stopped.  The black is working okay.  I removed the colour one and am able to print from my Smartphone but not from my Windows operated laptop although was able to do this when I had the printer originally.  Seems to point to problems with Windows update in September.  It is driving me mad.  I have tried on three occasions now to try to sort it and HP Virtual Assistant has just about finished me off.  I hope someone on here is able to help.  I have HP Instant Ink and even upgraded my account as thought perhaps I am not paying enough but still no difference.
