Hi @grandmacathyt,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To disable the Cartridge Policy feature on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8715, follow these steps:

Using the Printer Control Panel:

Turn on the Printer: Make sure your printer is powered on.

Access the Setup Menu:

  • From the home screen, tap on the Setup icon (it looks like a gear).

Navigate to Printer Maintenance:

  • Select Printer Maintenance or Tools (the wording may vary).

Select Cartridge Policy:

  • Find the Cartridge Policy option in the menu.

Change the Setting:

  • Choose the option to Disable or select the policy you prefer (e.g., “Use All Cartridges” or “Use Only Black”).

Save Changes:

  • Confirm your selection, then exit the menu.

Using the HP Smart App:

Open the HP Smart App: On your computer or mobile device.

Select Your Printer: Choose your OfficeJet Pro 8715 from the list of devices.

Access Printer Settings: Go to Printer Settings or Manage Your Printer.

Locate Cartridge Policy:

  • Look for the Cartridge Policy settings.

Change the Setting:

  • Set it to Disable or adjust as needed.

Save Changes: Make sure to save any changes before exiting.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
