Hi @Alvd

HP photo printing can produce long-lasting prints, but the durability depends on several factors, including the type of printer, ink, and paper used. Here’s what to consider:

1. Ink Type & Longevity

  • 7-Ink Printers: These typically use pigment-based inks, which offer better fade resistance and higher color accuracy for professional-quality prints.
  • Ink Bottle Printers: These often use dye-based inks, which can provide vibrant colors but may fade faster over time, especially when exposed to light or humidity.

2. Paper Quality

  • HP Photo Papers are optimized for inkjet printing and can enhance longevity.
  • Using acid-free, archival-quality paper can help preserve prints for decades.

3. Environmental Factors

  • UV exposure, humidity, and storage conditions affect print lifespan.
  • Keeping prints in frames with UV-protective glass or photo albums can extend their life.

Which Printer is Best for You?

  • If you want high-quality, long-lasting prints, a 7-ink printer is the better choice.
  • If you’re printing casual postcard photos, an HP ink bottle printer should be fine.
