Envy 4520 prints in color but not in black-page is blank. No black in copy or scan mode, either.

@gerry0626, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

I understand you are not able to print in black. Let us try these steps:

 

Make sure the plastic tape if any, is removed from the new ink cartridge before placing it in the printer. Check if the printer detects the ink cartridge by checking the ink levels.

 

Clean the ink cartridges(twice) and print a quality report to check the result as mentioned in this document - Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues
