HP ENVY 6000 All-in-One Printer series
Other

I have a brand new HP ENVY 6000 All-in-One Printer series and I am using a Macbook running on macOS Monterey 12.1. I am using Staples Multipurpose 50% Recycled Paper and HP 67 ink in color and black, and they are full. The printer is updated and the network is connected and secure.

It is printing only partial lines in both black and color of all variety (sometimes just the top half of the line, sometimes the bottom, sometimes the middle, sometimes skips a line altogether, sometimes the color looks faded etc.) SEE IMAGES BELOW.

I've run all of the HP Smart Diagnostics, Print Quality Reports, and cleaning tests. I aligned the printhead and cleaned the printheads and nothing has fixed it. I even ran the Diagnose & Fix function in HP Smart and it said everything was fine.

Is the printer broken, is there a fix for this, am I doing something wrong?? Thanks so much!

@Jackie10006, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I see that the print quality is not satisfactory. Have you tried printing on regular paper(non-recycled)?

Try making a standalone copy from the flatbed glass and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Also, try printing from the Mac and check the result.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your Mac.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Also, check for any software updates on Mac

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

make sure you have tried the steps mentioned in this document - No black ink, wrong colors, other print quality issues

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

Thank you, Kumar0307.

I have tried printing on non-recycled regular paper and also a standalone copy and the same problems occur. The printer firmware is all updated, as is the Mac.

Not sure what to do.

@Jackie10006

In this case, the issue could be with the ink cartridges or the printer itself. To conclude, you may have to replace the ink cartridges.

You may replace one ink cartridge for now and check the result.

If the replacement ink cartridges do not help, we can conclude the issue is with the printer.
